Berousek SULTÁN
The circus “know how” belongs to the czech countries as well as for example czech glass, beer or bijouterie. Circuses we know today were originally set up approximately in the middle of last century. Tumblers, bear-leaders and jugglers who on their own hook toured for centuries around castles and mansions started to perform together under one canvas roof. Primal tents for hunderd spectators were being enlarged and modernized up to today’s extent when they are able to seat over one thousand people.
One of the most famous czech circus clans is family Berousek with their initiator Ferdinand Berousek. He together with his sons performed in a popular movie Six bears and Cibulka where the main roles played Berousek’s bears whose training is the speciality of this family.
Sons Karel and Ferdinand, the owners of Berousek circus SULTAN are the representatives of the sixth Berousek generation and as well as they were being tought the circus art from their father now they pass their experience to their children whom are the new promising circus generation.
Animal tamings which made this family famous are practised with tolerance, understanding and love for animals whom are being motivated just by food and being taught only what they like and nothing they have to be forced to.
In 1981 recieved Berousek’s bear manage in Tokyo biggest award for “Super show with bears”.
Great success obtained Berouseks in Amerika where they were invited as the only czech artists to perform at the biggest Disneyland in the world in Orlando, Florida.
